COLD FURY 4: An Eye 4 an Eye
Temperatures were well below freezing and fierce winds were howling as a Nor'easter pounded the New England region. But much like the mail, nothing was going to stop COLD FURY 4: An Eye 4 an Eye from taking place on January 8th, 2005. The PAV in Lowell for the second straight year was where the Chaos would commence. A star-studded card full of surprises was headlined by a match up between two of Chaotic's best, Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Champion Maverick Wild defended his crown against former champion "Latin Fury" Luis Ortiz in a hard fought contest that featured WWE's Dr. Tom Prichard as the special guest referee. Prichard pulled double duty on the night, he also was Chase Del Monte's mystery partner, and the duo was successful against "Big Man On Canvas" Craig Stratton and his mystery partner, the returning "Local Legend" Dukes Dalton.
The second bout of the evening also featured a surprise tag team partner. Matt Logan was set to go one-on-one with the debuting Xavier, but Xavier revealed that he had arrived with a partner of his own and together they wanted to take on The Logan Brothers. To the shock of everybody in the building Low Ki emerged from behind the curtain, and together with Xavier they defeated the young Logans in a match that despite the loss, helped springboard the careers of Bryan and Matt in Chaotic Wrestling.
There was also another tag team match on the card at COLD FURY 4; this one however, was a Ladder Match for the Chaotic Wrestling Tag Team Titles. Pretty Psycho (Handsome Johnny & Psycho) was looking to recapture their belts from The Valedictorians (Rob Eckos & Billy Bax). The Val's had a tall task ahead of them as before the match it was revealed that Bax had a phobia of heights and wanted nothing to do with climbing a ladder. Pretty Psycho took full advantage of the situation, making Bax & Eckos look foolish at every turn. In the end Handsome Johnny was able to scale the ladder and secure Pretty Psycho's second reign as CW Tag Team Champions.
Now it was time for the main event for the Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Title. Maverick Wild had been assaulted several times by Luis Ortiz over the preceding months, culminating in Ortiz hanging Wild over the top rope with a belt the show before. Due to the vicious nature of Luis's attacks, and given the fact that Maverick was ready to do anything to get revenge, Chaotic Wrestling Management decided that Dr. Tom Prichard was just the man to enforce the letter of the law in this contest. While he wouldn't stand for them flat out breaking the rules, Prichard did allow these men to settle their differences. After nearly 25 minutes of intense action, Maverick Wild was the victor and had his hand raised, rightfully so, by Dr. Tom Prichard. This match proved to be one of Wild's toughest in route to the longest CW Heavyweight Title reign in Chaotic Wrestling history. COLD FURY 4 was in the books, and the CW Heavyweight Champion stood tall, getting his revenge: An Eye 4 an Eye. |
