THE REVIEW
COLD FURY 7
To say 2007 was a big year for Bryan Logan would be and understatement. The eldest Logan broke away from the tag team ranks and set his eyes firmly on the biggest man ever to hold the CW Heavyweight Title, Brian Milonas. Logan's September CW Heavyweight Title victory was short-lived however, because just three months after capturing the belt, Milonas returned - inadvertently helping Handsome Johnny capture his second Heavyweight Championship. Heading into COLD FURY 7, all three men had legitimate claims to the top prize in Chaotic Wrestling and Chaotic Management had no other choice but to make the Main Event of the biggest event in New England - a Triple Threat Match. With all the outside factors in this match, Chaotic Management also named a special guest referee in the form of the returning Thomas Penmanship. Penmanship was considered the perfect man for the job because of not only his wrestling resume (he was a former CW Heavyweight Champion) but also because he would not be biased towards anyone in the match. The flamboyant Penmanship had a long, detailed history with all three men.
Before the Main Event could take place, there were many other issues that needed to be resolved. Another highly anticipated match was the CW New England Title vs. Chaotic Career Match that pitted CW New England Champion Alex Arion vs. Nikki Roxx. Not only was Roxx looking to capture the CW New England Championship, but she was also looking to defend her right to compete against her male counterparts. Arion made several chauvinistic comments directed at the challenger and her bid to break out of competing solely against female competition. Going into COLD FURY 7, the Golden Greek agreed to defend the CW New England Title under one condition: If Nikki doesn't win she's gone from Chaotic Wrestling. In a match that will certainly go down as one of the best in COLD FURY history, Arion narrowly escaped with his most prized possession, thus sending Nikki Roxx packing. Adding insult to injury, while Roxx was saying goodbye to her fans, Arion had her escorted from the building by security.
Any advantage Handsome Johnny had heading into COLD FURY 7 as CW Heavyweight Champion was negated by the announcement of the Triple Threat Match, and he was quickly on the receiving end of the unexpected continuity of Brian Milonas and Bryan Logan. Their teamwork didn't last long however. As soon as they dispatched of the champion, Logan and Milonas were all too happy to renew their rivalry. This match saw lots of intense action including Logan leaping over the top rope onto his much larger opponents. Late in the match referee Penmanship snatched a folding chair out of Milonas' hands when he went to swing it, thwarting the big man's plans and refueling a feud that would tear through Chaotic for months. In the end it was Logan standing on the top rope and then crashing down onto the Handsome One with his patented leg drop to capture his second CW Heavyweight Title. Johnny was not seen in CW for months after. Logan's 2008 had started like much of 2007 had gone, with him being victorious. This was different, because this time he defeated two of the biggest men in Chaotic Wrestling history at the biggest show of the year! |
