THE REVIEW

It was a date for the history books on February 6, 2009, as COLD FURY 8: Infinite Possibilities saw not only TWO Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Title bouts in one evening, but ultimately, saw ALL THREE of the CW championships change hands on the same night.

Sean Gorman's Empire had a nightmare of an evening, as not only did "Straight Edge" Brian Fury and Mikaze defeat his men Brian Milonas & Sledge to take the CW Tag Team Titles in the opening contest, but Demon Ortiz, who just months before had returned to Chaotic, took advantage of his first title opportunity in years to win the CW New England Championship from Scott Reed. However, not even that story could top the unique CW Heavyweight Championship scenario in Lowell at COLD FURY 8.

Officially, Big Rick Fuller was due a title match at current titleholder "Golden Greek" Alex Arion by winning the multi-man Chaotic Championship Chaos months earlier. Chase Del Monte, refusing to accept that he has had his last shot at the gold, interjected himself into the picture by crashing the Fuller/Arion COLD FURY 8 contract signing and signing the papers himself! Though the contract was null and void, CW Management heard Del Monte's passionate plea loud and clear and made a shocking decision - at COLD FURY 8, there will be TWO title matches, and Infinite Possibilities! First, Fuller would get his shot at Arion and then, the winner would face Chase in the main event.

On February 6th, Del Monte also had to wrestle twice, so as not to have an unfair edge over the champion. He took on CW Triple Crown winner "Hurricane" John Walters, who was being inducted into the Chaotic Wrestling Hall of Fame at COLD FURY 8: Infinite Possibilities alongside "Coach" Mike Hollow. Chase's night did not start out right as he spent a good amount of time in Walters' sharpshooter and ended up losing the bout. Was it a bad sign?

Arion had an uphill battle in his first title match against Big Rick. At one point, Arion turned tail and ran from the ring, with Fuller giving chase and the referee beginning his 10-count. Fuller caught the champion and dragged him back to the ring, tossing him in before stepping back between the ropes himself. In doing so, Alex beat the count, Fuller did not, and The Golden Greek retained the CW Heavyweight Title.

In the COLD FURY 8 main event title bout, Del Monte came in with his leg at less than 100% and the crafty veteran took immediate advantage. When Chase began a miraculous comeback and had Alex on the ropes, again the champion tried to escape. He grabbed the belt and headed for the curtain, only to be stopped by Fuller once again! The scorned big man returned him right into the waiting arms of Chase, who put away Arion to capture the championship. The locker room emptied as all of the CW stars congratulated Chase Del Monte on achieving his dream and showing everyone that anything could be possible at COLD FURY 8: Infinite Possibilities!
