 COLD FURY 8!
This Friday night, February 6th at the Polish-American Veterans Club in Lowell, MA, Chaotic Wrestling proudly presents the eighth installment of our "winter classic", COLD FURY 8! For the first time in Chaotic Wrestling history, the CW Heavyweight Championship will be defended not once, but twice in the same night.
"The Golden Greek" Alex Arion has been a dominant champion since winning the title from Bryan Logan on June 6, 2008. He has turned-back the challenges of all he has faced, including "The Promise" Antonio Thomas, "Straight Edge" Brian Fury and the popular Chase Del Monte. With "The Golden Goddess" Cherry Payne by his side and watching his back, Arion has remained on top of the Chaotic Wrestling heap for the past eight months.
In addition to his impressive heavyweight title reign, Arion is a member of the prestigious "Triple Crown" club, having held the Chaotic Wrestling Tag Team Championship as well as the CW New England Title. In fact, Arion was never defeated for the CW New England Championship as he was forced to surrender that belt after winning the heavyweight title.
Add to this astonishing list of accomplishments in Chaotic Wrestling the fact that Alex Arion is a crafty 12-year veteran who has held numerous titles throughout his storied career and you have the makings of the elite in Chaotic Wrestling today.
But at COLD FURY 8: Infinite Possibilities, Alex Arion has the deck stacked against him as he must first defend his title against another veteran of the mat game, the 6'5", 272-pound former CW Heavyweight Champion, Big Rick Fuller.
Fuller is the only active member of the CW roster that has spent more time in the business than Arion, having made his professional debut in 1990. Entering his nineteenth year as an active competitor, Rick Fuller hopes to add a second Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight title reign (a title he has not held since 2001) to his resume this Friday night. Fuller earned his COLD FURY 8 title shot by virtue of his victory in the "Chaotic Wrestling Championship Contender Chaos" in Lowell on December 5th.
Arion ambushed Fuller during their historic contract signing on January 9th, adding more controversy to the title picture and enabling an overzealous Chase Del Monte to sign his name to the contract that had already been signed by the champion and not the rightful challenger, Rick Fuller.
After intermission, Chaotic Wrestling President, Mark Douglas issued a statement that since Fuller was the rightfully designated number-one contender and would earn his title shot at COLD FURY 8. He also decreed that while Del Monte was not to receive another shot at the gold after being defeated by Arion on November 7th (per a pre-match stipulation), he felt that Chase made a valid claim for another shot and that he, too, would receive a shot at the title at COLD FURY 8, facing the winner of the Arion-Fuller match.
In fairness to Fuller and Arion, Chase will have another match at COLD FURY 8 prior to his long-awaited title shot against none other than "Hurricane" John Walters. Walters is no stranger to fans of Chaotic Wrestling and is (rightfully so) being inducted into the CW Hall of Fame that very same night.
Del Monte will have to use the momentum he has going into COLD FURY 8 to defeat Walters, but win, lose or draw, Chase will get his title shot in Friday night's main event against either Arion or Fuller. When all is said and done, one of these three men, whether it be Arion, Fuller or Del Monte, will leave COLD FURY 8 as the undisputed Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Champion. In my opinion, not one of these competitiors holds an advantage over the others as the victor will need to compete twice to rightfully claim the gold.
COLD FURY 8 is aptly entitled "Infinite Possibilities" and a more fitting subtitle for this epic event would be impossible to find! The heavyweight title scenario is just the tip of the iceberg, as the undercard is filled with Scott Reed (representing the Empire, with "The Manager of Champions" Sean Gorman) defending the CW New England Championship against Demon Ortiz while the remaining members of the Empire, "The Kingpin" Brian Milonas and Sledge defend their CW Tag Team Championship against "Straight Edge" Brian Fury and "The American Sasuke" Mikaze. A tag team grudge match features "The Duke of Elegance" Don Chesterfield teaming with "Duchess" Damon against the team of "The Mohawked Enforcer" Max Bauer and Tommaso Ciampa.
In addition, the Chaotic Wrestling Hall of Fame Class of 2009 will officially be inducted as we honor "Hurricane" John Walters and "Coach" Mike Hollow.
A limited amount of tickets remain for COLD FURY 8, this Friday night in Lowell. Get them now before it's too late!!!
Until next time...
GET READY TO FEEL COLD FURY!!!!
