Holiday Hijack 2025 Wrap-Up

2025 was a big year for Chaotic Wrestling! We saw the fracturing of the GGC! The fracturing of Catch and release! The return of Shannon Levangie! The wrestling return of Julian Starr! Sidney Bakabella removing his shirt!

And the year in chaos wrapped up with the Holiday Hijack at the Sons and Daughters of Italy Hall in Watertown, Massachusetts! The evening kicked off with a welcome from Sidney Bakabella, sporting a Santa hat and a new wig! He gave out t-shirts to the crowd and marveled that after 40 years of crowds saying terrible things about him, all he had to do to get the crowd to chant his name was to give out some t-shirts. He is of course suggesting that our affection can be easily bought, and who are we to say he’s wrong? We humbly suggest that anyone who wants more love from Chaotic Nation should try giving out some stuff!

Bakabella introduced Armani Kayos, who was quickly sucker punched by Chase Del Monte, who was wearing a t-shirt bearing a dictionary entry for “irregardless.” Del Monte also took Bakabella out at ringside, which, unfortunately for Del Monte, did not prevent Bakabella from offering his signature interference in the match.. Bakabella bit Del Monte’s hand as he clung to the ropes,. Also he hit Del Monte with brass knuckles after that. Ultimately Del Monte had Kayos pinned, but referee Kevin Quinn, who had been verbally and physically abused by Del Monte for the entire match, suddenly found his ring-slapping arm dislocated and was unable to count Kayos out. He had no such trouble when Kayos pinned Del Monte, and Kayos got away with a dubious but satisfying win.

Next up was two thirds of the Monarchy, BMT and Prince Jamari, vs. Powers of Influence. Ariel was on hand at ringside and clearly devoting more attention to Jamari than her spouse. DJ Powers dropped BMT onto the apron and the floor, thus taking him out for a significant amount of time and allowing Zamora and Powers to take turns abusing Jamari. BMT eventually returned to the match and shifted the momentum, dealing some punishment to both members of Powers of Influence until sustaining an apparent injury. Referee LJ Childress checked on BMT, and Zamora and Powers naturally used the opportunity to whack Ariel with the ring bell. Powers of Influence took the win and Jamari helped Ariel backstage while BMT, apparently forgotten by his spouse and his protégé, needed help from Childress, Referee Brendan Paul, and Chase Del Monte to get backstage.

Anthony Greene emerged next, apparently undecided as to whether to wear a white denim jacket or a blue denim jacket, he sported an unholy mélange of the two, as well as some jeans with a lace-up front.  He faced Shannon Levangie, talking a great deal of trash, urging Levangie to show him something and mocking her “relentless” tag line. She did, however prove relentless, coming back from being thrown into the barricade and kicking out of what seemed to be dozens of two-counts and ultimately flying off the top rope (natch!) for the pin and the win!

Sean Vegan Keegan emerged, head wrapped in a towel, concealing the mullet that Seabass Finn apparently paid off a barber to administer to Keegan. (Though if you get your hair cut in New Hampshire, you really shouldn’t be surprised if you wind up with a mullet). Seabass revealed that he had Soy Boy tied up backstage, then came out to rough up Keegan a bit. Keegan announced that at Pandemonium, he will fight Finn and if Finn wins, Keegan and Soy Boy will disband their mini-faction. But if Keegan wins, Finn must join them!

Then a street fight between Milo Mirra and Acturus for the New England Championship. Mirra took out at least a year’s worth of pent up aggression on Arcturus, but the big man was not cowed by Mirra’s abuse and wound up giving as good as he got. It was a long and brutal match featuring flips in the audience, Arcturus going through a table, and Mirra using the pogo stick not only to fly through the air, but also to choke Arcturus, getting the champ to tap out! Mirra hoisted the belt triumphantly and basked in the well deserved adulation of the crowd as he became the new New England Champion!

Next up, a Pandemonium qualifying between Kalvin Dumont and Patrick Wheatman. Cole Rutherford was not there to second Dumont, presumably because he was looking for a place to buy salmon shorts out of season. Even absent his toady/accomplice, Dumont was able to actually out-wrestle an opponent for the first time in months or maybe ever. He took the win and left a dazed Wheatman to stagger from the ring.

After that, Cash McGuiness vs. Jariel Rivera! We began with a pose off between the scarily ripped Rivera and the…not scarily ripped McGuinness. Rivera won the pose off and, in the battle of skill and muscle vs attitude that followed, attitude did not fare well. McGuinness was pinned without ever really making a serious threat against Rivera.

Tyree Taylor came out for an interview with Rich Palladino and then refused to answer questions, which was an interesting strategy! Taylor looked like he was about to suplex rich, but Ricky Smokes came out to save the day. Taylor wound up powerbombing Smokes and then clotheslined Rich Palladino into the turnbuckle! Armani Kayos and Shannon Levangie came out to assist Rich Palladino, and with Palladino injured, Jalisa had to step up to announce the main event.

The main event saw Mortar defending his Heavyweight Championship against Donovan Dijak, with referee Kevin Quinn, just one match away from retirement, sporting the black and white. This match was not announced as a street fight but definitely took on the character of one. Fighting in the ring! Fighting on the apron! Fighting at ringside! Dijak thrown into the crowd! It was a typically challenging Mortar title defense, but it ended in surprising fashion, with Mortar maneuvering Dijak into a Boston Crab and getting him to tap out!

And then Tyree Taylor came out to give Mortar a cheap shot to the back of the head. Ricky Smokes came out to take on Taylor, and then Levangie and Kayos (sporting McGuiness’s White Boy of the Year shirt) also returned to take on Taylor, and then Kalvin Dumont came out and was greeted by kicks from Kayos and Levangie. While the other wrestlers fought it out at ringside, referee Kevin Quinn climbed up to the top rope and jumped onto them, flattening everyone! May we all retire with such panache!

Mortar took the mic and berated everyone for “getting in his business” (and may we just add that if anyone ever gives us a cheap shot to the back of the head, please feel free to ‘get in our business’ and take that person on. Thanks!) and announced that the winner at Pandemonium will not get a shot at the heavyweight championship as Pandemonium will in fact be a Heavyweight Championship match, and Mortar will be first in the ring!

It looks like 2026 is going to be every bit as wild as 2025. See you in Lowell!
