Summer Chaos 2026 Wrap Up

Sure, the kids are back in school and the nights are getting cool, but that didn’t stop the fightin’ city of Lowell from being abuzz for Summer Chaos!
The screens and the crowd were the biggest we’ve seen at any Chaotic event, and the solemn 9/11 memorial that opened the show quickly gave way to promos from the Vegan Society and the Breadwinners, followed by surprise ring announcer Sidney Bakabella, looking uncharacteristically sharp in his tuxedo with red cummerbund and matching bowtie, announcing a tag team championship match!
The Breadwinners were clad in fancy new white pants with “B DUBZ” embroidered on the leg. Wheatman wasn’t wearing a slice of bread on his head! Cash wasn’t wearing his “White Boy of the Year” t-shirt! (I assume he found out that my grandson was about to be born and so vacated the title lest he lose it in humilating fashion). The Vegan Society was clad in their usual green trunks, and the action kicked off with the Breadwinners doing their signature pose and then pounding the heads of their opponents instead of grabbing their own crotches! Had they hit on a winning strategy? Well, the vegans came back and took control of the match, but, propelled by the energy of the hottest Chaotic crowd this reporter has ever seen, the Breadwinners came back...until Keegan hit Wheatman with Richard Holliday’s signature move, driving his fist up between Wheatmans legs and crushing the little wheatmen with his bicep. Wheatman returned the favor only seconds later, and after the vegans tried to use the belts as weapons, with Keegan accidentally knocking Tofu Block flat, The Breadwinners were able to subject Keegan to the Yeast Injection and claim the championship!
The next match saw Jacob Axton taking on a “still smarting from JT Dunn’s betrayal” Danny Miles. It was brawler versus flyer, and it was a very even match until Miles caught Axton in the sleeper hold, and Axton was out before 9PM on a Friday night. Who is he, me? Miles then brought his signature crutch wrapped in barbed wire into the ring and…ultimately decided to shake Axton’s hand instead of whacking him with the crutch. Presumably he doesn’t want to dull and/or corrode the barbed wire before he encounters JT Dunn again!
Next up, a fatal 4-way for the Panoptic championship, with Chase Del Monte vs. Trigga the OG vs. Paris Van Dale vs. champ Shannon Levangie! Folks, all is not well in Chaotic OG land, as Trigga started the match looking pretty heated at Chase and never really got less heated. But this did not provide the Bratz with any advantage, as their ranks too were rent by dissension! Both Shannon and Chase seem to view the other members of their teams as useful sidekicks, and Paris and Trigga seem to object to said designation. Nevertheless, the Bratz managed to work together to abuse the Ogs, at least for a while. Ultimately Shannon felled Paris with an errant superkick and rolled up Chase to retain the Panoptic Championship!
Next, an extremely creepy promo that said, “After Chaos….comes Serenity” as we got a sideways glimpse of a hooded, masked figure. Intriguing! Also kind of terrifying!
Next up, a New England Championship match between Mr. Bacon and Tony “The Big Cheese” Navarro. Bacon, perhaps inspired by being in a school gym, took time during his entrance to jaw at seemingly every child in the place. Navarro entered to chants of “new champ,” and Mr. Bacon delayed the start of the match waiting for “the class” to be quiet. This was, of course, a fool’s errand. The match featured a number of momentum changes. Navarro successfully kicked out of a rope-assisted pin and then tried to use the ropes himself, but referee LJ Childress caught him in the act and gave him detention for a week! (Okay, okay, not really). Then Mr. Bacon brought out the hardcover textbook he’d entered with. Navarro snatched the book, opened it up and revealed the brass knuckles inside. LJ Childress prevented Navarro from using the brass knuckles but didn’t prevent Mr. Bacon from whacking Navarro with the book and retaining the championship!
Next, a montage recapping the Armani Kayos/Tyree Taylor feud, followed by a falls count anywhere match for the Heavy/Skinny weight championship! Kayos once again inexplicably entered on the little suitcase scooter, and we didn’t need to understand it to appreciate it! Taylor removed his shirt, revealing a Knicks jersey below, and said he was dressed like a champion. It took about 30 seconds for the action to leave the ring, and there it remained, the the competitors exchanging blows all over the gym! At pone point Tyree exhorted a gentleman in a mobility scooter to run Kayos over, and said gentleman attempted to comply—are you gonna say no to Tyree? Apparently The Amy Who Really Runs the Place would, as she put a middle finger in his face and he dared not object. Armani put Taylor through the merch table. Taylor repeatedly slammed Kayos to the gym floor. Armani gave Taylor repeated chair shots. Folks, it was nothing short of miraculous that either man could stand by the end of the match. Finally Tyree whacked Armani with a bag that contained his once-signature chain (did he fish it out of the trash, or was this a new chain?) and put him through the plywood stage, and that was the end of that!
An intermission allowed those of us seated in the bleachers to rest our sore cheeks and get some popcorn, and next up we got Jose Zamora (equipped with his 360-degree camera, natch) versus Omar La Casa. Zamora asked for silence that he might record an intro and had just as much success quieting the crowd as Mr. Bacon had. La Casa emerged holding the first ever hula hoop camera! La Casa trapped Zamora in the hula hoop before the match even began, creating some delightful physical comedy and making Zamora look ridiculous, so it was really a double win. Sadly for both La Casa and Chaotic Nation, the outcome of the match was not decided by whimsy, and Zamora got the win.
Next up, we got a recap of...well, we can’t really call it a feud. More like Brian Fury’s unhinged obsession with Mortar. Fury entered, and then the crowd went absolutely wild as Mortar made his return to Chaotic wrestling. Did we say the crowd was hot for the opening match? Folks, that was lukewarm compared to the energy the crowd brought to this match. Fury had been demanding this match for months, and file this under be careful what you wish for, as Mortar came out swinging and brought the pain both in and out of the ring. Of course Fury is a...shall we say seasoned...competitor and was not taken out of the fight.
Mortar dove from the ring at Fury but took out long-sufffering ref Brendan Paul instead. LJ Childress subbed in, and Fury didn’t forget his second wind, no doubt making Billy Joel proud, and dealt some abuse of his own. But longtime Chaotic fans know Mortar can take a lot of abuse. And so he did! It was a long and brutal match, with Mortar getting the worst of it, but Mortar would not give up or give in.
LJ Childress got knocked out of action when Mortar chucked Brian Fury into him, and Fury took advantage of the ref-less environment to administer a kick to the mortar shells. He then brought out chairs, and, as he raised a chair above his head, Jaleesa came running in to administer Richard Holliday’s signature move, causing Fury to crumple to the mat clutching his groin. She then hit him with the clothesline. We thought that was it for Fury, but he kicked out of the resulting pin, and the match continued, with both competitors looking angry and exhausted, much like us at the end of a work week! Ultimately, after 33 minutes of wrestling (!!), Mortar prevailed!
He then took a microphone and announced that everyone in the world had been put on notice. Okay—noted!
But then two hooded, masked figures—one of whom was definitely the guy from the earlier Serenity promo—came out to abuse both Mortar and Jaleesa. The scary newcomers stalked away from the ring, leaving Mortar and Jaleesa down, but certainly not out.
